CONSHOHOCKEN REGION
RE/MAX Realty Group is proud to serve Conshohocken and the surrounding communities. This region includes the following communities: Conshohocken Borough, West Conshohocken Borough, Whitemarsh township, and Plymouth township.
Conshohocken is located in Montgomery County along the Schuylkill River. The name Conshohocken is derived from a word in the area’s native American Lenape tribe’s language, which is now interpreted as Pleasant Valley. Conshohocken was settled and developed into an industrial and manufacturing center, which has transformed into a center for commercial development and riverfront living. Conshohocken’s sister community
West Conshohocken is located just across the Schuylkill river. This land was given to William Penn in the Treaty of 1683 by the native American Lenape tribes. Both boroughs are located just over 14 miles from Center City Philadelphia and minutes from major roadways leading to other parts of the region.
Plymouth Township was originally settled in 1686 by the “Society of Friends” who came from England and named it after their hometown in Devonshire. A few months after settling there, William Penn laid out the township whose boundaries have only changed slightly since its inception.
Whitemarsh Township was incorporated in 1704 as part of Philadelphia County. It was part of the original 28 Counties that became part of Montgomery County when it was founded in 1784. The township has only changed its boundaries by about 200 acres since it’s creation.
